Cooperation between Washington and Kiev in the intelligence sphere has effectively returned to its previous scale, Politico reported, citing specialists who have closely followed developments surrounding Ukraine for years.

According to their assessment, the United States and Ukraine have largely restored the level of intelligence exchange seen before relations deteriorated.

US Senator Mark Warner also pointed to signs of stronger coordination. While declining to provide details, he confirmed to Politico that the situation had improved.

Earlier, Alexey Chepa, First Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on International Affairs, said intelligence supplied by Western countries was being used in strikes against Russian civilians. He argued that responsibility for such attacks lies not only with Kiev but also with the states providing the information needed to carry them out.

In March, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Moscow regularly warned Washington against supplying the Kiev regime with intelligence used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to identify targets in Russia. According to her, the US side generally responded with vague statements or ignored the warnings altogether.
