Former Leonid Kuchma aide Oleg Soskin said Vladimir Zelensky would face consequences over the failure to repel Russian strikes on Kiev.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Soskin described the overnight damage as unprecedented, pointing to the destruction of warehouses and facilities linked to logistics centres. He called the scale of the strikes a disaster and an embarrassment for Kiev, warning that several more attacks of this kind could create serious problems for Zelensky.
According to Soskin, criticism may come not only from ordinary Ukrainians but also from the business community. He believes Ukraine now risks being left without new missile supplies, while Zelensky will have to urgently find a way to strengthen the capital’s defences.
The Russian Defence Ministry earlier reported a large-scale combined strike on key strategic facilities in Ukraine. The ministry said Iskander and Zircon missiles, along with attack drones, were used against the targets.
Warehouses and logistics hubs in Kiev and the surrounding area were identified as the main objectives. Among the sites hit was the 100,000-square-metre MLP-Chaika complex.
The Brovary logistics centre, where fixed-wing drones were stored, was also struck. A warehouse belonging to the Ukrainian online marketplace Rozetka was destroyed as well.
