A T-90M Proryv tank crew from a motorised rifle regiment of the 6th Guards Combined Arms Army, part of Russia’s Sever group of forces, destroyed a group of Ukrainian servicemen in a wooded area of the Kharkov region, according to a tank platoon commander using the call sign Yasen.

He said a reconnaissance drone detected the target during combat duty. Further surveillance showed that the Ukrainian troops were moving towards their unit’s positions as part of a rotation.

After receiving the coordinates, the tank crew opened fire with high-explosive fragmentation shells. The group was destroyed.

Yasen said Russian tank crews operate from concealed firing positions, reducing their exposure to Ukrainian artillery and drones. Modern targeting systems allow them to prepare and fire the first round within minutes of receiving an assignment.

In July, artillery units from the Sever group of forces reportedly killed more than 500 Ukrainian servicemen in the Kharkov sector. Russian forces also struck two commanders of Ukrainian drone teams.
