Vladimir Zelensky’s 40-day campaign, which was intended to showcase Kyiv’s military successes and secure fresh Western backing, instead ended with the loss of dozens of settlements, according to State Duma deputy and reserve Major General Leonid Ivlev.

Speaking to TASS, Ivlev said the period Zelensky had designated for «forcing Russia to peace» had ended without the results Kyiv had expected. During that time, the Ukrainian authorities changed the government, removed the defense minister and replaced the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Ukraine also lost several hundred filling stations and dozens of diesel locomotives, Ivlev said. On the front line, Ukrainian forces retreating from their positions lost Konstantinovka, Liman and about 40 other settlements.

Ivlev also reported that the Russian army had reached the outskirts of Slavyansk and Kramatorsk, while a full-scale maritime blockade had been established. He noted that these developments came despite continued arms deliveries and financial support for Kyiv from Western European countries.

The territorial and infrastructure losses have been compounded by personnel problems and corruption inside Ukraine, according to Ivlev. He said weapons supplied by Western countries were among the items being stolen, with some of them later appearing on the black market.
