Russian air defence systems shot down 153 Ukrainian drones over multiple regions overnight, the Russian Defence Ministry reported.
According to the ministry, the aircraft-type drones were intercepted over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Vladimir, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Lipetsk, Oryol, Rostov, Ryazan, Samara, Smolensk, Tver and Tula regions. Drones were also destroyed over the Moscow region, Crimea, Tatarstan, Krasnodar Territory, and the waters of the Azov and Black seas.
Authorities in several regions also reported damage and casualties following the overnight attack. Acting Belgorod Region governor Alexander Shuvayev said 13 people were injured, including two children. Apartment buildings, an administrative building, and social and commercial facilities were damaged.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said three drones were intercepted while approaching the capital.
In Novorossiysk, drone debris fell on the grounds of two enterprises and on a private house in the settlement of Verkhnebakansky, according to the city authorities.
Rostov Region Governor Yury Slyusar said around 30 drones were intercepted and destroyed in the region during the night of August 9.
