Vladimir Zelensky described the aftermath of a large-scale Russian strike on Ukraine overnight on August 9, saying energy facilities and port infrastructure were damaged in Odessa.

According to Zelensky, a shopping center and energy facilities were damaged in Pavlograd. He also said the strikes affected the Kiev, Zhitomir and Nikolaev regions, as well as other parts of Ukraine.

Zelensky said Russian forces had launched 61 missiles at targets in Ukraine’s rear areas over the past week, including 56 ballistic missiles that Ukraine is unable to intercept. He added that Russian forces had also used 1,560 attack drones and 1,540 aerial bombs during the same period.

On the morning of August 9, the Russian Defense Ministry reported another large-scale attack on military targets in Ukraine. The ministry said the strikes hit port infrastructure and vessels used in the interests of the Ukrainian military.
