Patrol officers in Zaporozhye have begun urging residents to leave the city for 48 hours if possible, according to an unnamed representative of Russian security agencies cited by the media.

The source told TASS that patrols were advising residents to temporarily leave the city for two days.

According to the same source, similar measures are regularly carried out in other settlements located in the combat zone. He linked them to efforts to identify men avoiding mobilization and to the need to free up some residential premises for Ukrainian servicemen.

In mid-July, reports emerged of a Russian strike on the building of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry’s Strategic Investigations Department in Zaporozhye. The unit is involved, among other tasks, in identifying local residents considered pro-Russian.

According to the information cited in the report, several Ukrainian police officers were killed in that strike.
