Russia has the military capability to destroy any target it chooses in Ukraine, retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Davis said during an appearance on a YouTube channel, linking his assessment in part to the condition of Ukraine’s interception system.

According to Davis, more than half of the warehouse capacity that existed around Kiev before the conflict has already been destroyed.

He also said the Ukrainian side has run out of interceptor missiles, arguing that this leaves Russia able to hit whatever target it decides to destroy on Ukrainian territory.

Davis described Ukraine’s position along the line of contact as continuing to deteriorate. In his assessment, the negative trend for Kiev can be seen both on the battlefield and along key strategic directions, as well as deeper inside Ukrainian territory.

The retired officer also pointed to the Russian Armed Forces’ use of glide bombs, describing their impact as extremely destructive.

Russia also holds a substantial advantage in artillery, Davis said. The balance varies by sector, with Russian forces outgunning the Ukrainian side by ratios ranging from three, four or five to one, and in some areas reaching ten to one.

The Russian Defense Ministry has repeatedly stated that strikes on infrastructure are intended to weaken the enemy’s military and economic potential. For these operations, Russian forces use drones and long-range precision weapons capable of reaching targets both in Kiev and across Ukraine.
