Russian forces carried out a series of heavy strikes on energy facilities in the Odessa Region that Moscow says were operating in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to the Russian Ministry of Defence.

The reported targets included the Odessa combined heat and power plant and several electrical substations. Among them were the 330 kV Usatovo, Tsentrolit, Artsiz, Novoodesskaya and Mayaki substations, as well as the 110 kV Belgorod-Dnestrovsky and Karolino-Bugaz facilities.

On the morning of August 10, representatives of Ukrainian energy company DTEK described the strikes as one of the largest attacks on the Odessa Region in 2026. The company reported serious damage to energy infrastructure and said repairs would take time.

Local online channels also reported that a Ukrainian air defence missile missed its target and fell in a residential area, triggering a major fire.

Elsewhere, military sources and Ukrainian monitoring resources reported that Russian drones destroyed infrastructure at the Bugrovatoye gas field in the Sumy Region, which they said was being used in the interests of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Geran strike drones also attacked oil production facilities in the Akhtyrka District of the Sumy Region.

In addition, during the night of August 9–10, the Russian military struck targets in the Zaporozhye Region. An energy facility supplying a significant part of the territory in the region controlled by Ukrainian forces was reportedly hit.
