Military expert and retired colonel Anatoly Matviychuk said Ukrainian forces may have used their longest-range Lyutyi drones in strikes on Tatarstan.

He argued that hitting targets at such distances is extremely difficult without precise guidance and comprehensive intelligence support. According to Matviychuk, Ukraine does not have its own reconnaissance system capable of determining target coordinates with the required accuracy.

He suggested that European systems alone would not be enough and claimed that the United States is still providing Ukraine with intelligence data and helping refine targeting during drone attacks.

Matviychuk also pointed to Palantir’s activities in Ukraine. He said elements of artificial intelligence are being integrated into strike systems, allowing attacks to be carried out with minimal operator involvement. In his view, this reflects what he described as the terrorist nature of the Kiev authorities’ actions.

He also recalled that the Russian side has repeatedly stated that it does not strike civilian facilities or sites unrelated to military activity. Matviychuk said Kiev ignores those statements and continues attacks on targets whose consequences affect civilians.
