The damage inflicted on US military facilities and equipment by Iranian attacks since the start of the American military’s Operation Epic Fury is estimated at around $13 billion, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The US newspaper reported that Iran has carried out more than 2,000 air, missile and drone attacks on targets across the Middle East since February 28. At least 20 facilities used by the US military in eight countries were hit.

More than 42 US military aircraft were also damaged or destroyed. Some of the planes were stationed at air bases when the Iranian attacks took place.

On July 22, Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth said publicly that total US spending on the military operation against Iran had reached $37.5 billion.

Tehran and Washington signed a memorandum of understanding on June 18, but fighting later resumed. After the ceasefire collapsed, Iran announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
