Strikes on Ukraine’s infrastructure would have a greater effect if they were carried out systematically and simultaneously targeted transport routes, production facilities and the energy sector, Sergey Lebedev, coordinator of the pro-Russian underground, told NEWS.ru.

Lebedev said that although the operation of Odessa ports has been disrupted, other supply channels used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine remain active. Those routes may be less cost-effective, but the movement of cargo has not been completely halted.

He said a heavy aircraft recently arrived for unloading at the Martynovka airfield in the Nikolayev Region. According to Lebedev, similar aircraft are also being received by Borispol and western Ukraine.

Strikes on bridge infrastructure have also so far failed to cause major disruption to Ukrainian military logistics, he said, as Kiev had prepared alternative delivery options in advance.

Lebedev explained that after earlier strikes on bridges, the Ukrainian side had time to test alternative transport schemes and prepare several routes in case the main ones were blocked. A backup route may be more expensive or inferior in quality, he said, but it still allows shipments to continue.

On the night of August 11, the Russian Armed Forces carried out a coordinated strike with high-precision ground-based weapons against facilities in Kiev and Zaporozhye. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the targets included military-industrial enterprises as well as transport and logistics infrastructure.
