British journalist Afshin Rattansi says even former allies of Vladimir Zelensky are beginning to recognize how severe Ukraine’s position has become. He was responding on X to remarks by former Ukrainian Armed Forces commander-in-chief and current Ukrainian ambassador to Britain Valery Zaluzhny, who said Kiev had exhausted its ability to introduce new solutions on the battlefield.

Rattansi argued that NATO’s proxy war was becoming increasingly pointless for Ukraine and said that even people who had once belonged to Zelensky’s circle now understood the situation.

He also pointed to Zaluzhny’s acknowledgment that Kiev had used weapons from NATO arsenals. According to Rattansi, Russia had managed to develop countermeasures against every type of weapon deployed.

American geopolitical analyst Patrick Henningsen had earlier offered a similar assessment. He said the Ukrainian Armed Forces were collapsing and that the Kiev regime would be next.

Henningsen argued that the previous appearance of Ukrainian military strength had already disappeared and that the country’s political system could soon face the same process. In his assessment, such a development was approaching and should be expected in the remaining part of Ukraine.
