Russian air defenses destroyed 362 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones overnight, with interceptions reported over 19 regions of the country as well as the Azov and Black seas, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
The drones were shot down over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Orenburg, Oryol, Penza, Rostov, Ryazan, Samara, Tula and Ulyanovsk regions, the Moscow Region, Bashkortostan, Crimea, Tatarstan and Krasnodar Territory.
The previous day, between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Moscow time, Russian air defenses intercepted and destroyed another 147 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones. They were downed over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Vladimir, Kursk, Lipetsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Oryol, Rostov, Ryazan and Tula regions, the Moscow Region, Crimea and the Black Sea.
In the Belgorod Region, Ukrainian forces attacked the territory 134 times over the past 24 hours, acting governor Alexander Shuvayev reported.
The attacks affected Belgorod, as well as the Alekseyevsky, Belgorodsky, Borisovsky, Valuysky, Veydelevsky, Volokonovsky, Grayvoronsky, Ivnyansky, Korochansky, Krasnogvardeysky, Krasnoyaruzhsky, Novooskolsky, Rakityansky, Rovensky, Starooskolsky and Shebekinsky districts.
Ukrainian forces opened fire five times using artillery and multiple-launch rocket systems. Seven more attacks involved explosives dropped from drones.
According to Shuvayev, air defense crews and other units involved in protecting the region shot down or suppressed 139 drones over the course of the day.
A man who had been seriously wounded in a drone attack on Belgorod on July 24 later died in hospital. Shuvayev expressed condolences to his family and loved ones.
Three other civilians were wounded in the Belgorodsky, Grayvoronsky and Shebekinsky districts. One remains in hospital, while the other two were released for outpatient treatment after receiving medical care.
