Russian forces from the Center group have taken control of Petrovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, according to the Russian Defense Ministry’s August 13 report on the course of the military operation in Ukraine.

The ministry said units of the Center group captured the settlement through active combat operations.

Petrovka is a village in the Kramatorsk district near Druzhkovka. According to the 2001 census, its population stood at 21 people.

Earlier on August 13, military sources reported that servicemen from the 102nd Guards Regiment of the 150th Motor Rifle Division had taken control of Petrovka. According to those reports, Russian troops eliminated opposing forces in the settlement and raised Russian flags there.

The Russian Defense Ministry also reported that Ukrainian forces lost around 1,410 servicemen across all sectors of the combat zone over the previous 24 hours.
