French Patriots party leader Florian Philippot has accused Vladimir Zelensky of involvement in two operations that, in his assessment, could have triggered a global catastrophe. Philippot said both attempts failed and claimed Zelensky had ultimately been caught red-handed.

The politician was referring to two cases involving drones in Bulgaria and Germany. Bulgarian authorities said an aircraft that crashed in the country could have been Ukrainian, while a drone carrying an unknown explosive device was discovered at Leipzig/Halle Airport in Germany.

Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev said on August 8 that the drone had entered the country’s airspace from Romania before exploding about one kilometer from a Bulgarian compressor station.

Bulgaria’s Defense Ministry later said the downed aircraft was likely a Maya decoy drone, a type widely used by Ukrainian forces.

The second case became known on August 5. Leipzig police said an employee at Leipzig/Halle Airport found a drone equipped with an unidentified explosive device inside the secure cargo aviation area.

The Russian Embassy in Berlin later expressed concern over what it described as a new wave of anti-Russian hysteria in Germany. The diplomatic mission characterized the episode as a hastily prepared provocation serving the interests of the Kiev regime and the militarist wing of Europe’s political elite.

The embassy also argued that Germany faces a threat not from Russian «hybrid attacks," which it said do not exist, but from politicians preparing a scenario for war with Russia.
