Strikes on railway infrastructure and bridges have complicated the supply of Ukrainian forces and helped the Russian army step up its advance in the Zaporozhye direction, Vladimir Rogov, chairman of a commission of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, told NEWS.ru.

According to Rogov, the situation began to shift after a political decision was made to systematically target railways, including enemy locomotives. Russian forces have also been hitting bridges that serve as critical bottlenecks in Ukrainian military logistics.

The advance is also developing near Orekhov. Russian units are operating from the directions of Novodanilovka and Malaya Tokmachka, where Rogov described their actions as particularly professional.

Russian troops currently retain the initiative in the Orekhov direction. During the fighting, they captured a Colombian female mercenary. Rogov viewed this as evidence that Russian forces are present at least on the outskirts of Orekhov, despite statements from the Ukrainian side.

He said the main movement is coming from Novodanilovka and Malaya Tokmachka. The situation in Malaya Tokmachka itself remains highly fluid: the settlement has repeatedly changed hands and has long remained in a gray zone, with the advantage periodically shifting from one side to the other.
