Fighters from the Anvar special forces unit and the 11th Army Corps have received a new drone known as the Nositel Degtyareva. Footage of the UAV in combat was published by the Voenkory Russkoy Vesny channel.
The video shows the drone striking Ukrainian Armed Forces self-propelled artillery systems, armored vehicles and pickup trucks moving along roads and positioned near forest belts.
Technical specifications for the new model have not yet been disclosed. What is known is that the drone is designed to operate deep behind enemy lines and remains resistant to electronic warfare systems. Its range is sufficient to reach Kharkov.
The origin of the name Nositel Degtyareva has also not been explained. It clearly echoes the surname of Soviet weapons designer Degtyarev and the well-known Degtyarev machine gun, although the reason the developers chose this particular name remains unknown.
Earlier, it became known that the Russian Armed Forces had begun using new jet-powered modifications of the Geran drone family on the Ukrainian front. According to Interia, some versions can reach speeds of up to 600 kilometers per hour.
Ukrainian experts assessed the new drones as a serious problem for air defense systems, as conventional interception methods have significantly more difficulty catching targets moving at such speeds.
