Africans are being trained in Libya for subsequent deployment in operations against Russia, a source in the security structures of eastern Libya told RIA Novosti. Ukrainian instructors are involved in the training, according to the source.

The claims follow reports in Libyan media about an appeal by a Sudanese activist, who said citizens of Sudan and other African countries were being lured to Libya with offers of security jobs. After arriving, they are forced to undergo military training and are later sent to take part in combat operations in Ukraine and Mali, he said.

The source said the information outlined by the Sudanese journalist was not secret and pointed to several training sites operating in Libya. Among them are facilities in Tajoura, an area near the road to the airport in Tripoli, as well as the At-Tikbali center.

Specialists from Ukraine are working at these locations, according to the source. They helped develop training programs for mercenaries and passed on experience in the use of strike drones.
