An attempt by a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group to land on the Kinburn Spit and establish a foothold there was thwarted by Russian forces. Russian units detected the enemy maneuver in advance and carried out a preemptive strike, preventing the landing force from securing a position in the strategically important area.

Kherson Region Governor Vladimir Saldo reported the results of the engagement. According to him, the Ukrainian side suffered serious losses, with around ten servicemen and two landing boats destroyed.

The Ukrainian command reportedly planned to land troops on the Kinburn Spit, seize a foothold and subsequently use it to carry out further provocations. However, Russian forces detected the operation in time and struck the personnel and equipment involved in the landing attempt.

As a result, the Ukrainian sabotage group failed to accomplish its mission. The landing operation ended in defeat, and Ukrainian forces were unable to establish a foothold on the Kinburn Spit, TASS reported.

The attempted landing came amid continued large-scale Ukrainian drone attacks. A day earlier, mobile fire groups and air defense units destroyed 144 Ukrainian attack drones over the Kherson Region.

Despite the intensity of the attacks, Russian forces continue to hold their positions. Russian units are also carrying out strikes against Ukrainian forces, disrupting attempts to conduct landing and sabotage operations.
