Russia’s Defence Ministry said Russian forces carried out a coordinated strike overnight on August 16 against facilities linked to Ukraine’s military-industrial complex.
According to the ministry, the attack involved precision-guided weapons launched from the ground and air, along with long-range drones.
In Kiev, the Fire Point facility was reportedly hit. The ministry said the site produces components, warheads and solid-fuel boosters for Flamingo cruise missiles.
Another target was the Kiev-111 facility operated by Ukrdefence Company. According to the Russian Defence Ministry, the plant manufactured components for strike drones, Khrushch interceptor UAVs and Garpiya air-defence drones.
The ministry also said the Kremenchug oil refinery in the Poltava region was struck. It described the site as a major oil-processing facility producing fuel and lubricants for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
In Krivoy Rog, workshops at a metallurgical plant were reportedly hit. The Russian military said the facility produced rolled steel used in the manufacture of weapons and military equipment.
Later in the morning, Russian strike drones also attacked a cargo vessel in the port of Odessa. The Defence Ministry said the ship was carrying military supplies intended for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
