Former Turkish military attaché and retired Air Force colonel Ihsan Sefa has warned that possible Turkish arms deliveries to Kyiv could seriously damage relations between Ankara and Moscow. Information about such shipments had previously appeared in a report submitted to the US Congress.

Sefa said that if the claims are confirmed, the consequences could extend beyond Russian-Turkish military and political cooperation and affect bilateral ties more broadly. He stressed that trust remains a central element of relations between Moscow and Ankara, and any move that undermines it could have far-reaching consequences.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Moscow had requested clarification from both the United States and Turkey after Congress published information about possible arms transfers to Ukraine. The Turkish presidential administration later said it had no information about the Russian request.

According to Zakharova, the US documents refer to the possible transfer to Kyiv of a large stockpile of American-made weapons stored in Turkey. The list includes 12 multiple-launch rocket systems, more than 2,500 cluster munitions for them, 47,000 203 mm cluster artillery shells, and 70 ATACMS missiles.
