The missile attack on Russia’s Belgorod Region may have been launched from the Kharkov or Sumy regions using HIMARS systems or Storm Shadow missiles, military expert Vasily Dandykin told NEWS.ru.
Dandykin said the Belgorod Region’s proximity to the border makes these weapons a more likely option than Grad systems or Czech-made Vampire multiple launch rocket systems. He suggested that one or two missiles may have been fired in the strike.
According to the expert, the enemy uses Flamingo cruise missiles to attack targets located deeper inside Russia.
Earlier, acting Belgorod Region Governor Alexander Shuvayev said six civilians were killed in a missile strike on the village of Koloskovo in the Valuysky District. Four more people were wounded, including a 14-year-old teenager.
Two of the injured received medical assistance at the scene and later declined hospitalization. The other two, including the child, were taken to the Valuyki Central District Hospital.
