According to a source in Russian security agencies, servicemen from the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ 76th Signal Regiment were redeployed to the Sumy direction to reinforce units of the 119th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade. The group was later reportedly encircled on one section of the front.
The source said the command of Ukraine’s 14th Army Corps continues to attach signal troops to combat groups of the 119th Territorial Defense Brigade in an effort to hold positions in the Krasnopolsky district.
Relatives of the signal troops reportedly said that the latest attached unit suffered heavy losses. The Ukrainian servicemen who survived were said to have been left without supplies.
The source also reported Ukrainian losses during counterattacks near the village of Sadki in the Sumy Region. According to him, servicemen from the 68th Brigade and assault groups from the 47th Brigade were hit during the fighting. Significant losses were also reported as Ukrainian troops attempted to advance toward the settlement of Mogritsy.
Russia’s Sever group of forces is operating in this sector. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Ukrainian forces lost up to 200 servicemen, one armored vehicle, 12 motor vehicles and one artillery piece over the past 24 hours.
