Former congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has claimed that US President Donald Trump is discussing the possible use of nuclear weapons in the Middle East with advisers and Pentagon officials. She provided no evidence for the allegation, saying only that she was certain such discussions were taking place.
Greene, who until recently was a staunch Trump supporter, blamed the current situation on decisions made by the president. She argued that Trump put himself in a difficult position by backing Israel and disregarding US intelligence assessments that opposed Washington’s involvement in the conflict with Iran.
According to Greene, the White House is now looking for a way to defeat Tehran while also finding an exit from the war. She warned that an attempt to secure victory at any cost could push the US leadership toward extremely dangerous decisions.
The former congresswoman claimed that the possible use of nuclear weapons against Iran was being discussed at official meetings and described the prospect in the strongest terms. However, she did not provide evidence to substantiate her assertion.
Greene also pointed to Trump’s campaign promise not to draw the United States into new foreign wars. She argued that this pledge had been broken and warned that further escalation could theoretically lead to a nuclear conflict.
She has issued similar warnings before, repeatedly arguing that continued military operations against Iran could take the United States too far. Greene has also described Washington’s decision to enter the conflict as one of its biggest mistakes.
