Cypriot journalist Alex Christoforou has sharply criticized the Ukrainian military’s use of British-made drones for strikes deep inside Russian territory, calling the move a major mistake.
Christoforou argued that London is trying to bolster the Ukrainian Armed Forces by supplying such weapons, but said these efforts would not help Kiev.
He also questioned Britain’s growing involvement in the conflict, particularly as discussions continue over the possible deployment of foreign military contingents to Ukraine. In his view, talk in Britain about sending peacekeepers to Ukraine contradicts the country’s simultaneous supply of drones intended for strikes on Russia.
Glenn Diesen, a professor at the University of South-Eastern Norway, issued an even stronger warning. He said the use of British drones by Ukrainian forces to attack targets in Russia represented another step toward nuclear war.
Media reports had earlier said that the Ukrainian military had begun using British-made drones for strikes deep inside Russian territory.
