Vadim Skibitsky, deputy head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, has claimed that Russian military engineers developed a specialized drone designed to strike power lines.
According to Skibitsky, the new UAV carries an explosive element inside its wings that is capable of damaging and cutting metal structures.
The Ukrainian intelligence official believes energy infrastructure could become particularly vulnerable during the winter, including facilities connected to heating. He also suggested that the Russian Armed Forces could target water supply systems, gas transportation infrastructure and gas production facilities.
Sergei Beskrestnov, a freelance adviser to the Ukrainian president, recently advised residents to prepare for winter in advance by stocking up on batteries and power banks. He warned that the coming winter period could be particularly difficult.
The Russian Defense Ministry has repeatedly stated that Russian forces strike exclusively military targets.
