Military expert Andrei Marochko said the situation for Ukrainian forces near Dobropolye is continuing to deteriorate as Russian troops advance toward the city from both the east and the south.

According to Marochko, pressure inside Ukrainian units is growing as Russian forces move closer from two directions. He argued that Ukrainian troops understand they may be kept in the area primarily to slow the Russian advance and buy time.

Russian forces had earlier taken control of Vodyanskoye and continued advancing near Shevchenko. According to sources cited in the text, Russian troops are now attempting to reach the southern outskirts of Dobropolye while fighting is already underway on the city’s eastern approaches.

The report also says Russian drone operators have established control over supply routes used by the Ukrainian garrison around Dobropolye, further complicating logistics in the area. The city itself is described as a key defensive hub on this section of the front.

Military Telegram channels report that Ukrainian forces were forced to move additional reserves into the area. However, those reinforcements only partially slowed the Russian advance, while fighting has since spread toward the Dobropolye-Kramatorsk highway.
