The German defense company Rheinmetall announced that it will supply additional Skyranger 35 air defense systems to Ukraine. The costs for these systems will be covered by one of the European Union member states, using income from frozen Russian assets held in European accounts.
The company specified that the Skyranger 35 systems will be built on the Leopard 1 tank platform, with the total order valued in the hundreds of millions of euros. Production and integration of the systems will be carried out by Rheinmetall Italia SpA at its headquarters in Rome.
