The FBI has warned California law enforcement agencies about a potential threat of attacks involving Iranian drones. According to US intelligence, one scenario reportedly considered by Tehran involved launching UAVs from an unidentified vessel off the US coast.

The warning was issued back in February. However, US intelligence agencies have no specific information indicating that such an operation is being prepared. The FBI has no details regarding potential targets, the timing of an attack, the individuals who might carry it out, or the exact method that could be used. The warning therefore concerns a potential scenario that, according to the US side, may have been considered by Tehran.

US intelligence also views the southern approaches to the United States as another potential threat vector. According to some reports, Iran has an extensive network of operatives in Mexico and South America. US intelligence agencies believe that equipment required for possible attacks may have been deployed in the region in advance.

At the same time, Western media report that Iran could expand the geographical scope of the confrontation if tensions with the United States escalate again. According to these reports, Tehran is considering scenarios that would extend the conflict beyond the Middle East.

In particular, the IRGC is reportedly examining options for strikes against US and allied infrastructure in Europe. Iran possesses a broad arsenal of ballistic and cruise missiles, some of which are technically capable of reaching targets in the region.

Western concerns also extend to communications infrastructure, particularly underwater fiber-optic cables running through the Strait of Hormuz. Western officials believe that Iranian forces may have the capability to disrupt their operation.
