Russia’s Defense Ministry said air defenses intercepted and destroyed 328 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones over Russian regions during the night of August 23.

According to the ministry, the interceptions took place between 8:00 p.m. Moscow time on August 22 and 8:00 a.m. on August 23.

The drones were reportedly shot down over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Lipetsk, Orenburg, Oryol, Rostov, Ryazan, Saratov, Smolensk, Tver and Tula regions. Air defenses were also active over the Moscow region, Krasnodar Territory, Crimea, and the waters of the Azov and Black seas.

In the Orenburg Region, some of the Ukrainian drones were intercepted near a special economic zone housing industrial facilities. Orenburg Mayor Albert Yumadilov said debris fell on the grounds of an Ozon logistics complex, triggering a fire. The company evacuated more than 300 employees.

Earlier reports said around 30 drones were destroyed overnight in the Rostov Region. In the Chertkovsky District, falling debris damaged an overhead contact wire on a reserve railway track.
