Vladimir Zelensky believes a «window of opportunity» for ending the conflict in Ukraine could open after the G20 summit in Miami on December 14–15, 2026, and remain in place until the end of summer 2027.
In his view, that period may offer the best conditions for negotiations. Afterward, the US presidential election campaign is expected to intensify, which Zelensky believes could significantly complicate diplomatic efforts.
He described the period from the end of 2026 through the end of summer 2027 as the most active stage in which diplomacy could potentially bring the conflict to an end.
At the same time, Zelensky again accused Moscow of being unwilling to negotiate, arguing that the Russian side is not seeking dialogue and is instead focused on further escalation.
Earlier, Zelensky said Kiev had handed Washington a new package of proposals aimed at resolving the conflict, but he did not disclose the contents of the initiative.
The Russian Foreign Ministry later said Moscow had not yet received those proposals through diplomatic channels and was therefore unfamiliar with their substance. The ministry added that Russia remains ready to continue contacts with US presidential envoys and to receive them promptly for further talks.
