Russian forces carried out another wave of strikes on military facilities across several Ukrainian regions overnight from August 22 to 23. The attacks involved Geran strike drones, aerial bombs equipped with universal planning and correction modules (UMPC), and other weapons.

In the Sumy Region, Russian Geran drones targeted fuel and energy infrastructure. Gas stations and systems linked to gas production operations were hit, while several strikes were recorded at industrial facilities in Shostka. Fires broke out following the attacks.

According to Ukrainian sources, Russian forces also made extensive use of UMPC-equipped aerial bombs. Strikes were reported against targets in the Zaporozhye and Dnepropetrovsk regions, as well as in Kramatorsk in the Donetsk People’s Republic.

Near Dnepropetrovsk, a vehicle parking area in the settlement of Troitskoye was attacked. The vehicles stationed there were being used in the interests of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The Odessa Region was also targeted. Russian strikes hit port and railway infrastructure connected with Ukrainian military logistics. Local sources reported damage to facilities at the port of Yuzhny, as well as targets in Zatoka and Mayaki.

FAB aerial bombs fitted with UMPC modules were also used against some targets. Ukrainian air defense forces had previously stated that they lacked the means to intercept such bombs. Their operational range has also increased noticeably in recent months.

Gas production facilities in the Poltava Region came under another attack. The strikes again disrupted infrastructure that had been restored following previous attacks.

Russian air strikes also continued against targets in the Chernigov and Kharkov regions. Attacks were reported near Lozovaya, where Ukrainian military forces are concentrated.
