According to a plant representative using the call sign Lis, the laser system mounted on the Kuryer-2 ground robotic complex can neutralize mines and other munitions without detonating them, with the full process taking between two and four minutes.

During testing, the laser was directed at a fuse element, igniting a simulated explosive compound inside the mine. Instead of detonating, the material gradually burned out.

Speaking on the Voyennaya Priyomka program, Lis said only around four seconds of laser exposure are needed to ignite the explosive material. After that, the beam no longer has to remain on target, while the mine itself takes roughly two to four minutes to burn out completely.

He also explained that the laser does not require complex ballistic calculations. The beam travels in a straight line, concentrating its energy exactly where the operator places the sight, so a separate ballistic computer is unnecessary.

According to Lis, the laser beam itself is invisible to the human eye because it operates outside the visible spectrum. Its path can, however, become noticeable in smoke.

The Kuryer-2 robotic ground system is remotely controlled through a compact wireless console. The system allows simultaneous fire from two barrels and can also be used to control FPV drones. In addition, Kuryer-2 can operate as a fully functional self-propelled combat platform.
