Military expert and retired colonel Anatoly Matviychuk believes the drones used in the attack on Krasnodar may have been launched from the Donetsk or Zaporozhye regions.

Matviychuk told aif.ru that the attack came from the southern direction and suggested the UAVs could have been launched from Kiev-controlled areas of the Zaporozhye and Donetsk regions.

Krasnodar was hit by Ukrainian drones overnight on August 24. Krasnodar Territory Governor Veniamin Kondratyev said debris from intercepted UAVs fell on the grounds of a private children’s center and on buildings under construction.

The regional operational headquarters later said the number of casualties from the overnight attack had risen to 12. Three children were killed, while six other people were hospitalized with various injuries. Their condition was assessed as moderate.

An Ozon logistics center in the region was also struck, triggering a major fire.

According to Russia’s Defense Ministry, air defense forces destroyed 351 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones over Russian regions during the night.
