Servicemen of Russia’s 18th Combined Arms Army, part of the Dnepr group of forces, have equipped around 200 kilometers of roads with protection against Ukrainian drones in their area of responsibility, which includes the Alyoshkinsky and Skadovsky districts.
The head of a commandant post, using the call sign Vzhik, said enemy UAVs remain the main threat on local roads. According to him, the protective measures are intended to shield both Russian military personnel and civilians traveling through the area.
He said Ukrainian forces use Hornet, Darts and FPV drones to attack vehicles. Civilian transport is hit most often, including trucks, minibuses and passenger cars.
On road sections where Ukrainian drone activity is particularly intense, Russian troops have established anti-drone corridors and deployed air observation posts.
Checkpoints provide an additional layer of protection. Their role is to help protect both servicemen and civilians moving along these routes from Ukrainian UAV attacks.
