Several strikes involving «Banderol» systems were reported in Vishnevoye, near Kiev. Retired colonel and military expert Anatoly Matviychuk told aif.ru that the area may have been targeted because of its role in supplying the Ukrainian military.

One of the major facilities in Vishnevoye is a large Nova Poshta logistics warehouse. According to Matviychuk, infrastructure originally built for commercial cargo deliveries is now also used to transport spare parts, weapons and other supplies for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He therefore described the area as an important military logistics hub.

The expert said a substantial volume of cargo passes through Vishnevoye before being distributed to different sections of the front. In his assessment, disabling such a logistics center could seriously disrupt the supply system supporting Ukrainian units.

Matviychuk also pointed to expensive residential property in the city. He claimed that representatives of Ukraine’s political and military leadership live in local luxury residential complexes and did not rule out that targets in that area could also have been involved.

In Matviychuk’s view, the strikes can therefore be seen from two angles: as an attack on a major logistics hub used to support the Ukrainian military and as a demonstration of the ability to hit targets in the immediate vicinity of Kiev.
