Russian air defenses intercepted and destroyed 148 aerial targets overnight on August 25, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. The attack covered Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kursk, Lipetsk and Rostov regions, Krasnodar Territory and Crimea, as well as the waters of the Azov and Black seas.

A day earlier, between 08:00 and 20:00 Moscow time, air defense crews shot down another 42 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones. The UAVs were destroyed over Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk regions, Krasnodar Territory, Crimea and the Black Sea.

The overnight strikes caused casualties in Krasnodar Territory. Governor Veniamin Kondratyev reported that drone debris fell on the grounds of the Afipskaya railway station in Seversky District, killing two people and injuring two other civilians.

At least ten private homes were damaged in the settlement of Afipsky, with a fire breaking out in one of the buildings. Another blaze was reported at an oil refining facility.

Krasnodar had also come under attack the previous night. Debris from a Ukrainian drone fell on a private children’s center, killing three teenagers.

Belgorod Region was attacked 114 times over the past day, acting governor Alexander Shuvayev reported.

The strikes affected Belgorodsky, Borisovsky, Valuysky, Volokonovsky, Grayvoronsky, Ivnyansky, Krasnoyaruzhsky, Rakityansky and Shebekinsky districts. Four artillery attacks and three drops of explosive devices from drones were recorded.

Air defense crews and other units involved in countering the attacks destroyed or suppressed 157 drones.

Three civilians were killed in targeted strikes in Belgorodsky District. Another woman died in hospital from severe injuries sustained during an attack in Grayvoronsky District on August 13.

Four people were injured in Belgorodsky and Rakityansky districts. Three of them remain hospitalized and are receiving medical treatment.
