Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian forces launched a total of 190 drones toward Russian territory, with 148 of them used during the night of August 25.
The Telegram channel Arkhangel Spetsnaza pointed to a noticeable decline in the intensity of the raids and a narrower geographic spread of attacks. According to the channel, most of the recent activity was concentrated on Russia’s border and southern regions, particularly the Rostov Region and Krasnodar Territory.
At the same time, the authors argued that the lower tempo should not be mistaken for a lasting reduction in Ukrainian drone activity. In their assessment, Ukrainian forces may be accumulating resources for new strikes on rear areas ahead of the end of the warm season and the start of the heating period.
Military correspondent Yury Kotenok had earlier suggested that Ukrainian forces could be preparing a large-scale attack on Russian regions. He said the relatively low number of drones being intercepted over Russia at certain times could indirectly indicate preparations for a more concentrated strike.
Russia’s Defense Ministry previously reported that air defenses destroyed 148 aerial targets during the night of August 25. The drones were intercepted over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kursk, Lipetsk and Rostov regions, Krasnodar Territory, Crimea, as well as over the Azov and Black seas.
