Russia has begun using the Pole-31 counter-drone system in the special operation zone. The equipment is designed to protect facilities, military vehicles and personnel from reconnaissance and strike drones, including kamikaze UAVs.

According to developer NPO Kilowatt, the system works by disrupting satellite navigation signals used by unmanned aircraft. Pole-31 can be deployed to shield vehicles, armored equipment and troops from drone attacks.

The stated operating range is at least two kilometers. The station targets GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou and Galileo navigation systems and operates in the 1162–1300 MHz and 1550–1630 MHz frequency bands.

Pole-31 is positioned on elevated terrain during deployment. This configuration allows the system to cover military and critical infrastructure, industrial sites, fuel and energy facilities, and agricultural assets against unmanned aircraft.
