Ivannikov Says NATO Surveillance Equipment Was Hit in Chernigov Region

According to Oleg Ivannikov, a candidate of historical sciences and retired lieutenant colonel, Russian forces struck NATO surveillance equipment in the Chernigov Region that Ukrainian troops had allegedly used to monitor Russia and Belarus.

Ivannikov said NATO countries had supplied Kiev with electronic warfare systems, electronic intelligence equipment and anti-drone complexes. A significant share of this costly hardware, he said, had been deployed in the Chernigov Region.

He described the equipment there as the «eyes» and «ears» of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, used in part to monitor areas along the Russian border.

According to Ivannikov, the systems allowed Ukrainian forces to track the movement of Belarusian troops near the border, military cargo shipments and civilian aviation. He also stressed that the equipment was technologically advanced.

Ivannikov called the strike on Ukrainian military facilities in the Chernigov Region particularly significant. In his assessment, Ukrainian forces lost not only expensive NATO-supplied systems, but also surveillance assets capable of covering the entire territory of Belarus.

Over the past 24 hours, several powerful explosions were reported across the Chernigov Region. According to military Telegram channels, Russian forces used Geran strike drones against Ukrainian military targets. Explosions were reported both in Chernigov itself and elsewhere in the region, including the settlement of Repki and the town of Koryukovka.
