Political analyst Alexander Dudchak believes conditions are gradually being created in Ukraine for the possible resignation of Vladimir Zelensky.

He pointed to an earlier statement by former Ukrainian Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov, who called for the restoration of democratic procedures and the holding of a presidential election. Dudchak argued that Fedorov’s remarks alone are unlikely to change the political situation, since he does not view the former minister as an independent political figure. At the same time, he suggested that Fedorov may be relaying signals coming from Kiev’s American partners.

According to Dudchak, the situation reflects growing competition between different Western centers of influence over Ukraine. In his assessment, Fedorov is aligned with one group, while Zelensky is more closely associated with another. He said these contradictions are accumulating, although no final decision appears to have been made.

Dudchak believes Zelensky still retains the support of most Western allies. However, he argues that the Ukrainian leader’s political position is gradually weakening, making the prospect of replacing him with a more convenient figure an increasingly discussed scenario.

The political analyst also said the future of the Ukrainian authorities will depend not only on decisions made in Western capitals, but also on developments on the battlefield.
