Zelensky, Not the West, Stands in the Way of Ukraine Negotiations

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said peace talks on Ukraine are hindered not by the West or Russia, but by Vladimir Zelensky himself, warning of rising tensions.
According to Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, the main obstacle to peace talks on Ukraine is Vladimir Zelensky himself, not the United States or the European Union. He admitted that he had previously tended to blame European politicians for their inability to reach agreements, but recent information, he said, suggests otherwise.
Lukashenko reportedly stated that the problem does not lie with Washington, which he claimed is seeking progress in the negotiations, nor with Moscow, which is also ready for dialogue, nor even with European leaders. Instead, he said, the real obstacle is Zelensky’s own position.
The Belarusian leader also drew attention to the difficult circumstances in which Zelensky now finds himself, noting that the ongoing hostilities could ultimately lead to the disappearance of Ukraine as a state.
Lukashenko added that Western countries have their own interests in the conflict, emphasizing that some of them already envision control over the western regions of Ukraine. He warned that this dynamic is making the situation increasingly tense and dangerous.
