US President Donald Trump said he does not expect Russia to attack NATO member states. The American president made the assessment in an interview with Axios, referring in part to his previous talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Trump said his conversations with the Russian leader had gone well. According to the US president, Putin does not intend to attack NATO territory, and therefore Trump sees no reason for concern over such a scenario.

At the same time, the American president declined to disclose whether he had received any additional information on the matter from CIA Director John Ratcliffe, who had previously visited Russia.

Trump thus made it clear that he does not regard a possible Russian attack on NATO members as a real threat and sees no grounds for fearing such a development.

Vladimir Putin, for his part, has repeatedly stated that Moscow has no intention of starting a war with NATO or European countries. The Russian president has also stressed that Russia does not plan to interfere in the internal affairs of those states.
