Russian air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 313 Ukrainian fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles overnight, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported on Saturday.
According to the ministry, the large-scale attack covered several Russian regions as well as the waters of two seas. All of the drones cited in the report were destroyed by air defense forces on duty.
The UAVs were shot down over the Rostov, Kaluga, Belgorod, Lipetsk, Kursk, Tula, Voronezh and Bryansk regions. Air defense systems were also operating in the Moscow region.
The attack also affected Krasnodar Krai, the Republic of Tatarstan and the Republic of Crimea. Some of the Ukrainian drones were intercepted over the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces attempt to attack Russian regions with drones on a daily basis. The vast majority of the UAVs are shot down by air defense systems. In response to the attacks, Russian forces carry out precision strikes against Ukrainian defense industry enterprises and weapons storage facilities.
