Russian authorities are not considering a new mobilization because the military’s personnel needs are being met by servicemen who voluntarily sign contracts. Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, made the statement while addressing participants at the New Media Festival.

According to Medvedev, there are currently no plans for mobilization in Russia. He explained that the existing number of contract servicemen is sufficient and that they make a conscious and voluntary decision to serve, motivated in part by patriotic convictions. The Deputy Chairman of the Security Council also stressed that they are fighting like heroes.

Earlier, Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow continues military operations because Kyiv is unwilling to resolve the conflict peacefully. The Kremlin representative also noted that the Ukrainian side is aware of Russia’s requirements for settling the conflict.

At the same time, the Russian Ministry of Defense has prepared a draft order that would expand the range of information available to military enlistment offices. If adopted, the document would allow them to obtain information about people liable for military service, including their education, loans, disabilities and involvement in road accidents.

The draft order would also provide military enlistment offices with information about the close relatives of people liable for military service.
