Volodymyr Zelenskyy has lost his legitimacy because elections were not held in Ukraine after the expiration of his term in office, according to American journalist and Communist Party USA International Secretary Christopher Helali, who made the remarks in an interview with TASS.

According to Helali, the absence of proper elections means that Zelenskyy’s term in office expired long ago. On this basis, the journalist characterized the current authorities in Kyiv as a terrorist regime and argued that its activities can only be stopped through military force.

At the same time, Helali considers diplomacy the preferred way to resolve the conflict. He stressed that a political settlement should remain the priority as long as there is still an opportunity to achieve a result through negotiations.

However, according to the American journalist, the situation changes if diplomatic mechanisms can no longer resolve the crisis and eliminate its root causes. In that case, Helali believes that the use of military force becomes the only remaining way to achieve those objectives.

The Communist Party USA official also addressed the issue of civilian security. According to him, this includes the need to ensure the safety of residents of Donbas and other territories of Russia.
