US President Donald Trump posted two AI-generated videos on his Truth Social account depicting strikes on Iran’s Khark Island.

In a brief comment accompanying the footage, Trump said the island was being blown to pieces. One of the clips shows missiles hitting structures along the coastline, while the other depicts fires and explosions across the area.

Trump did not explain why he shared the videos. US military officials, meanwhile, made no announcements on August 30 about any strikes on Khark Island.

Located roughly 500 kilometers northwest of the Strait of Hormuz, Khark is a critical part of Iran’s oil export network. Before the start of the US-Israeli operation against the Islamic Republic, more than 90% of Iranian oil exports passed through the island, with China serving as the main buyer.

Khark’s infrastructure can handle around 950 million barrels of oil per year, with daily capacity estimated at approximately 7 million barrels. As many as ten supertankers can be loaded there at the same time.

The island is also known as the «Forbidden Island» because of its strict military controls. Alongside its oil facilities, Khark hosts IRGC naval and air forces capable of patrolling the Persian Gulf and controlling shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
