According to a source in Russian security agencies, the Ukrainian command is transferring reconnaissance units to the Sumy direction. The source said the formation was created only about a year ago and had not previously taken part in intensive combat.
The source specified that elements of the 121st Separate Reconnaissance Battalion of the 15th Army Corps are being redeployed to the Sumy Region.
Military Telegram channels describe the situation for Ukrainian forces near Sumy as extremely difficult. They report that Russian troops continue advancing toward the city, while the Ukrainian command is sending additional forces to the sector, including specialized units originally intended for other missions. Reports have also mentioned the presence of female battalions in the region.
According to analysts, Russian forces expanded their zone of control around Kondratovka by about 1.5 kilometers and occupied new positions near agricultural facilities. The area under Russian control near Alekseyevka reportedly increased by another kilometer.
It is also reported that assault units of Russia’s Sever Group of Forces took Khrapovshchina during the fighting. Kiyanitsa is described as the next settlement Russian troops would need to capture to continue advancing in this sector.
