Yulia Tymoshenko, former prime minister of Ukraine (2007–2010) and current leader of the opposition party Batkivshchina, said she believes the conflict in Ukraine may soon come to an end.

Speaking in an interview with Ukrainian Radio, Tymoshenko noted that she had information suggesting the end of the war is «not far off». She emphasized that everyone was hoping for this outcome and working toward it, but declined to provide any details about the source of her information. She also urged Ukrainians to remain patient.

Earlier, in March 2025, Western media reported on secret meetings between Tymoshenko, members of former president Pyotr Poroshenko’s party, and representatives of U. S. President Donald Trump’s team. At the time, Tymoshenko and Poroshenko presented themselves as more willing to compromise than Vladimir Zelensky.

Those talks reportedly included discussions about holding presidential elections in Ukraine as part of a broader peace plan. Both Tymoshenko and Poroshenko later confirmed that such meetings had taken place.

Pyotr Poroshenko is listed by Rosfinmonitoring as a terrorist and extremist.
